On Sunday November 24 there 15 members of the Land Department of HRTA took part in an exercise on mount Parnitha in Attica The exercise was about search and rescue in forested areas using different techniques.
There was continuous message relay between all the team members and the operation center, in order to remind participants of the telecommunications protocols. There was also an orienteering exercise with map and compass, without the use of GPS, as well as a first aid and stretcher carrying exercise.
The exercise was particularly difficult due to adverse weather conditions and the terrain of the particular mountain side.
