Our diverse international programme takes a long look at women through the lenses of change agent, intellectual innovator, idea champion… We will be part of the global TED Women event taking place on 8th Dec 2010 in Washington, DC with satellite events around the world.
TEDxAcademy will be featuring inspiring women: a thinker, a scientist, a human rights activist, a change agent, an entrepreneur, an athlete and a performer! Presentations will be live in person!

Marianna Markou
Rescuer (Hellenic Rescue Team of Attica)
Marianna Markou is a volunteer rescuer, member of the Hellenic Rescue Team of Attica (EODA). Marianna has participated in many National and International rescue expeditions such as Lusios river, Haiti and the Indonesian Tsunami) and also at the Olympics and Special Olympics as a lifeguard and rescuer.
She has studied German Philosophy and works as a German and English Teacher for children, and has also worked for several distribution companies securing media programme support in Greece.
